Influenza is an acute respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses, which are highly infectious and only last for a short period of time. Influenza patients usually have symptoms such as high fever, headache, muscle aches and fatigue, accompanied by respiratory symptoms such as sore throat, cough and sputum production. The disease is self-limiting, but in infants, the elderly and patients with underlying cardiopulmonary disease, it can lead to severe complications such as pneumonia and death.
